Attica Migrant Facility Evacuated After Gas Tanker Ovreturns

Greek authorities are in the process of evacuating a temporary accommodation facility for migrants and asylum seekers located in the area of Schistos, in Perama, a coastal town-suburb of in the southwestern limit of Athens urban area, after a tank carrying natural liquified gas overturned.

Reports suggest there is a leak after the accident. Two police buses have been deployed to the area, while two urban transport buses were also sent to assist in the evacuation operation.

Motorists are being diverted by traffic police at the junction of Schistou Avenue with Grigoris Lambrakis street.
