Attica Governor to Outline €1.6 Billion Development Plan

"The projects and actions funded by ERDF make a daily impact on Attica and its citizens. These are projects for the people, delivered to them," said Hardalias.

The Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, will present the progress of the region’s financial program and the strategic plan for utilizing EU structural funds (ERDF) in the coming years at the 3rd Monitoring Committee meeting. This event will take place on the island of Aegina on Thursday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m., in the historic Kapodistrian Orphanage building.

“The projects and actions funded by ERDF make a daily impact on Attica and its citizens. These are projects for the people, delivered to them,” said Hardalias. He emphasized that with 1.6 billion euros at the region’s disposal, the aim is to implement projects and actions that will permanently enhance the quality of life in the country’s largest region.

“Our goal is to not waste a single day or euro in striving for a sustainable, green, and productive Attica, through major infrastructure projects and the promotion of entrepreneurship, employment, and social cohesion across its 66 neighborhoods,” the governor stressed.

Hardalias also highlighted that the Monitoring Committee is being held outside Athens for the first time, in Aegina, at the Kapodistrian Orphanage—a historic site whose restoration was co-financed by the Attica Regional Operational Program 2014-2020. This is one of 11,529 projects realized through ERDF funding and European resources.
