It’s that time of year again, where thousands of LGBTQ members and supporters paint the city an array of vibrant colors and take to the streets to celebrate Pride month.

As a result of the “Athens Pride 2024” festival, authorities have announced traffic regulations around Athens and have prohibited vehicles from parking and stopping on central roads in the downtown area.

These regulations will remain in place from 5 p.m. until the end of the festivities.

Specifically, traffic interruptions will be implemented on:

  • Othonos, along its entire length.
  • Filellinon Str., along its entire length and its perpendicular streets up until the first parallel street.
  • Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, along its entire length and its perpendicular streets up until the first parallel street.
  • Andrea Syngrou Avenue, from Athanasiou Diakou Str. up to Dionysiou Aeropagitou Str..
  • Panepistimiou, along its entire length and its perpendicular streets up until the first parallel street.
  • Stadiou, along its entire length and its perpendicular streets up until the first parallel street.
  • Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, from Sekeri Str. up to Vasilissis Amalias Avenue.

In order to avoid any accidents and prevent further traffic congestion, the Hellenic Police has requested that drivers take extreme caution when moving along the route of the parade, and follow the instructions of traffic police stationed along the specified roads.
