Athens Metro Line To and From Airport Temporarily Suspended

The public and visitors are encouraged to check announcements to avoid inconveniences

The company manging the metro services in Athens, called STASY, has informed the public that metro services to and from the airport are temporarily suspended.

This disruption is due to a technical malfunction involving a stationary train on the platform at Dukissis Plakentias Station, which caused a smoke alarm to activate.

Consequently, operations on the line to the airport, called Line 3, are currently limited to the section between Chalandri and Municipal Theatre.

Passengers are advised to check for updates and consider alternative transportation options during this period.

Otherwise, the Athens metro is operating regularly, although with reduced frequency during the summer months.
