PM Mitsotakis Posts on 2-Day Athens Authentic Marathon Event

Mitsotakis shared that he had planned to participate in the 5-kilometer race himself but was unable to do so due to a back injury.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took to the social media platform “TikTok” to extend his best wishes to the athletes participating in the Athens Authentic Marathon through a post.

In his message, Mitsotakis shared that he had planned to participate in the 5-kilometer race himself but was unable to do so due to a back injury.

Mitsotakis’ Full Message:

“73,000 athletes from 158 countries are participating in this weekend’s Athens Authentic Marathon. I had planned to run the 5-kilometer race myself, but unfortunately, recovery from a back injury prevented me from joining. Instead, I’m in the office working instead of preparing for the run.

In any case, I wish all athletes a great time, enjoy the beautiful Athenian weather, and celebrate this major event in classic athletics alongside your fellow participants.”

The 41st Athens Authentic Marathon is scheduled to take place on two days, Saturday, November 9, 2024, which includes two 5km races, and Sunday, November 10, when participants will run a 10km race, before the culmination of the two-day event, the Classic Marathon covering the historic 42km route from Marathon to the Greek capital.
