The popular lingerie global company Victoria Secret’s returned with its iconic fashion show after 6 years on Tuesday. But along with the return of the runway, among the iconic models, which included Tyra Banks and the Hadid sisters, who donned their dresses was Greek fashion model Anthi Fakidari, a first-ever model from the country.

At 21, Anthi Fakidari has already made a name for herself in the highly competitive world of fashion, flying between London, Paris, and Milan to take part in top runway events and shows, while she recently took part in Ralph Lauren’s fashion show in New York.

The blue-eyed, 21-year-old, 1.77-meter-tall beauty was, from a young age surrounded by the shiny media and entertainment lights, as her father is a cameraman for Greek television station Alpha TV.

As the story goes, one day her dad took her to the studios of the television station he worked at, and Anthi was mesmerized. Bedazzled by the lights and cameras, little Anthi had instantly decided what she wanted to be when she grew up. She made it clear to her father that she would become a fashion model.

He said he would support her only if she had the potential for a career abroad.
“I told her that if she didn’t succeed, I would stop her and find a way to do so because, after all these years in television, I’ve seen a lot.”

With roots from Crete and Trikala, she often makes her parents, Manolis and Anastasia, argue playfully over who of the two gave her those “beauty genes.”
