Feverish preparations are underway at the extreme southwest Greece resort of Costa Navarino for a lavish three days of nuptial celebrations revolving around the Antetokounmpo wedding on Sunday, with NBA super star Giannis Antetokounmpo marrying his long-time partner Mariah Riddlesprigger, with whom the Athens-born pro basketball player has three children.

The actual marriage ceremony will be held on Sunday, with receptions hosted for guests – including international sports stars and celebrities – on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s soiree entails an all-white evening wear theme, while Saturday’s festivity has a Nigeria theme, paying homage to the Antetokounmpo family’s ancestral country.

According to local reports on Friday, the Kalamata airport, the nearest to the luxury coastal resort, is booked with arrivals of corporate jets and helicopters carrying many of the roughly 200 guests invited by the couple – most arriving from overseas.

Four of the Milwaukee Bucks’ primary owners arrived on Thursday for the wedding of their pro team’s biggest star, with other A-list athletes expected to attend the nuptials being Lebron James and Serena Williams.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife, Mareva, are also invited to the Antetokounmpo wedding celebrations.

Several of the NBA star’s fellow players on the Greek national men’s basketball team and co-players from the Antetokounmpo brothers’ youth days are also invited.
