 Another 10 Croatian nationals, all young men believed to be Dinamo Zagreb “ultras”, were released on Monday from pretrial remand, slightly more than four months after a deadly hooligan rampage outside the AEK Athens football pitch in northwest Athens’ Nea Philadelphia district.

One local man, 29-year-old Michalis Katsouris, was stabbed to death outside the OPAP Arena stadium, while several people were injured.
The release brings to 40 the number of suspects released from lockup, out of the 104 initially detained and subsequently charged with a myriad of offences, mostly misdemeanors, in relation to the shocking incident. Nevertheless, some of the suspects still jailed face felony charges.

Similar to the previous 30 suspects released last week, prosecutors imposed a ban on the individuals re-entering Greece to attend sports events. A minimum 1,000-euro bail was also set.
