The biggest NATO air exercise in Europe, Ramstein Flag 24, has been underway since Sept. 30 at the Anvravida air base in southwest Greece. The massive exercise is hosted by the Hellenic Air Force’s 117th combat squadron.

The body of a British tourist was recovered on Friday near a rugged area outside the mountainous town of Kalavryta, in the northwest part of the Peloponnese province of southern Greece. According to the police report, the man, 67, had gone plane spotting with a friend at a remote area at the Mega Spilaio site, when he passed out.
From Monday 14 October 2024 until Friday 18 July 2025, the restrictive measures on vehicle traffic in the center of Athens (Daktylios) will be reintroduced. The measures are meant to reduce congestion and air pollution. Vehicles will be allowed to enter the specified zone in the Greek capital, depending primarily on the parity of the date and of the vehicle’s registration plate, the vehicle type, as well as the time of the week/month.
