A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Santorini on Thursday night, shortly after a 4.4-magnitude tremor was recorded northwest of Anafi, according to seismologists.

The earthquake was strong and marked the first significant tremor since the recent wave of seismic activity that led to widespread concern and evacuations on Santorini. The previous swarm of thousands of tremors had alarmed residents and authorities.

According to the revised data from the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 27 kilometers south-southwest of Arkesini, Amorgos, at a depth of 5.6 kilometers.

Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region, though no immediate reports of damage or injuries have been issued.
