In yet another case of juvenile violence in Greece, a 16-year-old boy was brutally attacked by two other minors, in the port city of Volos, in Thessaly, on Wednesday.

As reported, the victim was first forcibly shaved by two teenagers, while later one of the attackers began punching the senior high school student in the face, leaving him bloodied and with his front teeth broken. The attackers are reported to have recorded the event on their cell phones.

The incident occurred in the afternoon on a busy street outside an internet café, where the students had gone after leaving a school trip.

The police and the emergency medical services were immediately notified. The victim was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police who rushed to the scene found the 16-year-old covered in blood. According to authorities, the teenagers had financial disputes with the victim.

The teenager’s mother has filed a lawsuit against the attacker’s parents, while the Directorate of Secondary Education of the Magnesia Prefecture has ordered an investigation into the incident.

The police have since arrested the parents of the two attackers for neglecting to supervise minors.

This incident is yet another case in an array of violent occurrences among Greece’s teens, despite the Greek state’s efforts to crack down on juvenile delinquency, by imposing stricter measures regarding teen violence.
