A large-scale police operation underway in the greater Athens-Piraeus area has resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals suspected of being members of a ring involved in more than 100 burglaries and break-ins throughout the Greek capital.
According to reports, law enforcement officials raided more than 20 apartments and warehouses in the regions of western Attica and Piraeus and arrested 11 suspects, while 18 more were taken into custody for questioning.
During the searches of the premises, police discovered and seized weapons, narcotics and what they believe are stolen goods.
Police say the suspects identified are reportedly linked to a gang that has committed more than 110 burglaries in the wider Athens area.
