Rescue operations are still underway to find 12 missing crew members

A video showing the moment a freighter carrying a crew of 14 sank near the island of Lesvos yesterday has come to light.
In the footage, posted online by a Turkish website, the vessel named “Raptor” can be seen struggling to stay afloat, while its stern has already submerged under the violent sea. The ship has already sent out a “MAYDAY” distress signal.

The body of one of the crew members was detected yesterday, Sunday, in the maritime area where the ship sank, and it was identified as an Egyptian sailor. Additionally, up to this moment, only one person has been rescued from the crew of 14 (one Indian, eleven Egyptians, and two Syrians).

Search and rescue (SAR) operations are still underway to find the 12 missing crew members.
