Greece: Summer in Attica and Rain in the Northwest on Friday

Temperatures in Greece will climb up to 33 degrees Celsius on Friday, with a slight drop expected over the weekend.

Much of Greece will experience fair weather on Friday, with temperatures reaching as high as 33 degrees Celsius in the Attica and Sterea regions.

However, the northwestern parts of Greece should expect some showers and slightly lower temperatures.

Winds will blow from the south at 3 to 5 Beaufort, temporarily reaching 6 Beaufort in the southern Aegean. By the afternoon, winds in the west, and gradually in the central and northern regions, will shift to westerly-northwesterly with the same intensity.

On Friday, temperatures will remain 4 to 6 degrees above seasonal norms, reaching 27 to 29 degrees in the north, 29 to 30 degrees in the west, 30 to 32 degrees in the central and southern regions, and in the islands, 27 to 29 degrees. In Crete, temperatures will reach 30 to 32 degrees Celsius.

Weather for the Weekend

On Saturday, central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean will be partly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast until midday. In the rest of the country, there will be few clouds, which will increase in the afternoon in the Sporades, Evia, eastern Sterea, eastern Peloponnese, and northern Crete, with a chance of light local rain late at night.

Visibility will be locally limited in the morning, mainly in the west.

Winds will blow from the north-northwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort, and temporarily in the eastern and southern island regions, from the south-southwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperatures will slightly drop in the north, reaching 24 to 27 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 28 to 30 degrees in the central and southern mainland, 27 to 29 degrees in the islands, and up to 30 or locally 31 degrees Celsius in Crete.

On Sunday, the eastern mainland, Evia, the Cyclades, and northern Crete will have few clouds, which will temporarily increase with local showers before gradually improving in the afternoon. In the rest of the country, the weather will generally be fair, with scattered clouds that will be denser during midday and afternoon hours.

Winds will blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, reaching up to 6 Beaufort locally in the Aegean.

Temperatures will drop a few degrees more, returning closer to seasonal norms.
