USA, Russia, Turkey Send Messages for Greek Independence Day

NATO, France and Cyprus also sent messages

Messages congratulating Greece for Independence Day from governments from all around the world poured in on March 25, including Turkey via its Athens Embassy, which tweeted “We congratulate the people and the Government of the #HellenicRepublic on the occasion of their National Day.”

The US Embassy in Athens posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account highlighting the strong bonds and democratic ideals shared between the two nations.

The Cypriot Foreign Ministry posted on X “We honor the national anniversary of March 25, 1821”, adding that the struggle for freedom remained ongoing in a time of disputes over fundamental principles of International Law. “Many years to Greek everywhere. Many Years, Greece!”

France also recognized Greek Independence Day in an X posted in Greek via its Embassy in Athens tweeting: “On March 25, a symbolic day of Greek Independence, the French Embassy in Greece wished all Greeks Many Years!”

The Russian Embassy in Athens tweeted from its official X account “The affection for the Greeks was characteristic in all strata of Russian society. Many intellectuals knew the members of the Friendly Society and sympathized with them. The Greek Revolution was depicted in letters, magazines, newspapers, and documents.”

Finally, NATO urged its followers to join in the celebration of Greek Independence Day in a post on X.
