In another unnerving development, the US State Department announced it would close the US Embassy in Kyiv after intelligence of a potential Russian air attack.
An official statement from the Embassy in Ukraine wrote:
“The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has received specific information of a potential significant air attack on November 20. Out of an abundance of caution, the Embassy will be closed, and Embassy employees are being instructed to shelter in place. The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens be prepared to immediately shelter in the event an air alert is announced.”
The Ukraine war marked 1,000 days since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion on Tuesday. Tensions between the Russia and the West have reached their highest levels in decades, spurred by escalating nuclear risks.
