In his weekly Facebook update on the government’s tasks, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed the issue of high prices, stating that measures will be taken as long as the problem persists.
Touching on the acquisition of 5th generation F-35 fighter jets, he emphasized that active diplomacy, stability, and Greece’s credibility are effectively justifying the country’s efforts to enhance its defense capabilities.
Mitsotakis highlighted the multifaceted nature of the government’s activity, noting that each issue carries its significance among the various concerns of the citizens.
He emphasized that the government was implementing policies to enhance citizens’ everyday lives. Examples from the past week included efforts in digitization, support for families, measures against high prices, and the reinforcement of national defense.
The PM also alluded to the exceptional year for Greek airports in 2023, following a record-breaking all-time high in passenger traffic – 72.6 million passengers compared to the previous historical “high” of 64.16 million in 2019.
The PM also referred to the success of Yorgos Lanthimos, who received 11 nominations for his new film “Poor Things” at this year’s Oscars, a record-breaking number for a Greek director.
