Greece will hold a swearing-in ceremony on Saturday at 11:00, marking the transition to a new generation of leaders in several key ministries following Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ cabinet reshuffle, announced on Friday.

Shortly after the ceremony, the newly appointed cabinet will convene for its first meeting, where each minister will formally receive their new portfolio.

The reshuffle comes in the wake of last week’s failed no-confidence motion in Greek Parliament, which was spearheaded by the main opposition party, PASOK.

With this new cabinet composition, Mitsotakis aims to refresh the government’s image and strengthen its ability to deliver on key policy areas that have faced intense public scrutiny, criticism from opposition parties, and, in some cases, concerns from the European Commission.

Among the top priorities are the modernization of Greece’s transport infrastructure, particularly the railway system, and measures to ease inflationary pressures on Greek citizens.
