The full message of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reads as follows: “This is always a day of honor and reflection; we remember those who gave their lives so that we may live in freedom today. In Thessaloniki, the military parade is a testament to our nation’s strength, with the Armed Forces securing our national integrity. In cities across the country, our students, the next generation, march in celebration. They are the strength of our nation. We must provide them with the tools to build a better life. But they must also remember that democracy requires constant care, active participation, and respectful dialogue to coexist despite our differences. Happy October 28th to all.”
Among the dignitaries attending the event were Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis, Mayor of Peristeri Andreas Pachatouridis, and a slew of Greek MPs from all parties.
