New Poll Brings Surprises: ND Leads SYRIZA, New Left’s Percentage Revealed

The latest poll results have unveiled striking surprises in Greek politics, particularly regarding the European Parliament elections. According to the Interview poll, New Democracy (ND) leads with a 15.4 percentage point margin over SYRIZA, securing 29.2% compared to SYRIZA’s 13.8%. Moreover, the same survey estimates the electoral strength of the New Left to be at 2.5%.

The survey also indicates an upward trend for PASOK at 12.4% and the Communist Party (KKE), reaching 6.8%. Greek Solution witnesses a significant increase from 4.1% to 6.5%, while other smaller parties like Victory and Spartans hover around 3.3% and 2%, respectively.

When asked about their vote preferences in hypothetical national elections, ND leads SYRIZA by 18.2%. ND stands at 31.2%, with SYRIZA trailing at 13%, regaining the second position after a continuous decline that initially placed them third.
PASOK seems to have strengthened compared to its performance in the June elections (11.8%), now gathering 12.5%. KKE is at 6.7%, Greek Solution rises to 6.5% from 4.4%, Course of Freedom at 3.1%, Spartans 2%, and Victory 4%.
The first survey conducted for the new parliamentary group “New Left” registers a 2% vote share, while the vote estimation fluctuates between 2% and 3%.

In the case of national elections, regarding the preference for the most suitable Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues to hold the top spot at over 40%.
Stefanos Kassalakis emerges second with 15%, followed by Nikos Androulakis at 11%. Despite the country’s political stability, 32% responded that they don’t trust any of the top three candidates.
Though the majority holds a negative opinion of Kyriakos Mitsotakis (55.3%), the Prime Minister still outshines his political adversaries.
41.5% hold a positive or somewhat positive opinion of the Prime Minister. The only “threat” to him appears to be Dimitris Koutsoumpas, the General Secretary of the KKE, at 35.5%. Kassalakis and Androulakis garner approximately similar levels of support (20% and 22.6%, respectively).

A notable increase is observed in the popularity of Kyriakos Velopoulos, the President of Greek Solution, who has risen by 7.4% compared to the previous measurement, reaching 18.3% from 10.9%.
