The conservative ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to maintain a double-digit lead over the second-placed social democrat PASOK-KINAL party (which has consolidated the second spot) in voter intentions, according to the latest poll conducted by pollsters MARC, aired on Ant-1 TV, on Tuesday evening.
Interestingly, when asked which party they preferred as the main opposition party, respondents favored center-right PASOK over leftist SYRIZA, at 49.8% and 25%, respectively, while a sizeable 22% preferred neither or chose a different option.
In particular, in terms of voting intentions, New Democracy leads with 27.6%, followed by PASOK at 16.5%, with the main opposition party SYRIZA coming in third at 8.8%.
Right-of-center populist party Hellenic Solution (Elliniki Lysi) came in fourth garnering 7.5% of support, followed by communist party KKE at 7.4%. Left of center Plefsi Eleftherias received 4.2%, followed by far-right Voice of Reason (Foni tis Logikis) at 4%, NIKI at 2.7%, MeRA25 at 2.4%, ultra-right Spartans at 1.4%, New Left at 1.3%, other parties at 2.2%, with abstentions at 1.9%, and undecided voters at 10.7%.
In projected vote shares, the ruling party led by PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis stands at 31%, PASOK at 19.2%, SYRIZA at 10.3%, Hellenic Solution at 8.8%, KKE at 8.6%, Plefsi Eleftherias at 5%, Voice of Reason (Foni tis Logikis) at 4.6%, NIKI at 3.1%, MeRA25 at 2.8%, Spartans at 1.7%, New Left at 1.7%, and other parties at 3.2%.
Regarding the voters who supported the main opposition party SYRIZA, which is facing ongoing internal strife after the party recently deposed leader Stefanos Kasselakis, they appear in favor of the former Goldman Sachs junior trader. Kasselakis holds a strong lead in the leadership preference with 34.1%, followed by Socrates Famellos at 20.9%, Pavlos Polakis at 14.2%, Nikolas Farantouris at 6.1%, Apostolos Gletsos at 4.1%, and 15.1% preferring another candidate.
