MRB Poll: Second-Place PASOK Gains on Ruling ND

In an extrapolation of the valid responses, center-right ND is given 28.1%, while 18.2% of respondents picked PASOK

Ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to lead in the latest opinion poll results, unveiled on Friday evening, although the gap between it and the second-place party is now in the high single digits.

ND is preferred by 21.7% of respondents in a nationwide poll conducted by the MRB firm and presented on the Open channel on Friday. Socialist/social democrat PASOK is now firmly entrenched in second place, garnering 14.1% in the same poll.

Conversely, main opposition SYRIZA continues to struggle, falling to fifth place in the specific opinion poll with 7.5% of respondents’ preference.

In terms of other Parliament-represented parties, the right-of-center and Eurosceptic Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) party is at 8.5%, followed by the Communist Party (KKE) at 7.5% and the leftist and counter-establishment Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom) party with 4.1%.

In an extrapolation of the valid responses, center-right ND is given 28.1%; 18.2% for PASOK; 11% for Elliniki Lysi; 9.7% for KKE; 8.3% for SYRIZA and 5.3% for Plefsis Eleftherias.

The out-of-parliament and newly established right-wing party Foni Logikis (Voice of Reason) is given 4.7%, and finally, the ultra-conservative Niki party is calculated at 3.8%.

Asked which political leader is best suited for the prime minister’s post, incumbent Kyriakos Mitsotakis is first, with 21.8% of respondents picking him, compared to second-place Nikos Androulakis, 9.2%, who was recently re-elected as president of PASOK.
