4-day Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Begins

The temporary truce will see the release of the first group of Israeli hostages today and aid flow into Gaza

The four-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas starts today and appears to hold as the first images of Palestinians walking on the streets come out of Gaza this morning, according to Reuters.

As part of the deal, 13 Israeli women and children hostages being held by militants and well as Some Palestinian prisoners held in Israel are expected to be released around 4pm today. Fifty hostages in Gaza in total are expected to be returned over the next several days, and aid will start flowing into Gaza.

The agreed upon halt in fighting started at 7am in the region and applies to north and south Gaza.

Correspondents near northern Gaza report the absence of Israeli air force activity in the region and no evidence of Palestinian rocket launches, indicating the tentative true is holding.
