'The Greek state is grateful for your contribution to preserving our ideals and promoting our heritage globally'

In her annual Christmas and New Year message to expatriates, the Greek President, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, highlighted the strength in the Diaspora, which she said is derived from its “unbroken unity and solidarity, elements particularly precious in today’s unpredictable era of crises and challenges.”

Greece’s head of state emphasized that the east Mediterranean country embraces the Greek communities worldwide, as an inseparable part of its national identity, recognizing its vital contribution to the country’s progress and prosperity.”

Addressing the Diaspora, she added, “The Greek state is grateful for your contribution to preserving our ideals and promoting our heritage globally.”

She noted that Greece was building bridges of friendship with states and peoples, charting an outward-looking path that promotes regional cooperation and development while safeguarding its non-negotiable national rights.

The Greek president added that Greece’s participation in the United Nations Security Council for the next two years placed upon the country a sense of responsibility and simultaneously signified its unwavering commitment and tireless efforts towards establishing security and peace worldwide.”

Sakellaropoulou stressed that Greece always endorsed the active participation of Greek communities around the globe in a journey of a globalized environment.
