All eyes and ears are on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as he prepares to announce the new composition of his cabinet, following last week’s failed no-confidence motion by PASOK.

Reports suggest that Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis will leave his post to move to Maximos Mansion, with Education Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis expected to replace him.

Greek cabinet reshuffle

Kyriakos Pierrakakis is set to move to the Ministry of Finance.

This shift is expected to trigger a domino effect, prompting further changes at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family. Meanwhile, political analysts continue to speculate about key appointments at the Ministry of Energy and Environment, Ministry of Migration, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Shipping, and Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.

A few officials are expected to retain their positions, including:

  • Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis
  • Defense Minister Nikos Dendias
  • Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos
  • Culture Minister Lina Mendoni
  • Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis

All speculation will be put to rest today around noon,  however, when Prime Minister Mitsotakis delivers his official announcement.
