Mitsotakis in his video on the new beach bill mentioned the introduction of an electronic reporting system for citizens to report any violations of the law by beachfront businesses

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took to TikTok to discuss the regulations outlined in the new beach bill.

In his video, Mitsotakis addressed misconceptions and truths surrounding the legislation recently passed in Parliament, highlighting three key provisions.

He emphasized that the new beach bill aims to organize beaches and enhance public accessibility.

Under the law’s provisions, the prime minister explained, 70% of beaches are mandated to be sunbed-free, with a minimum distance of 4 meters from the shoreline. In NATURA areas, this requirement rises to 85%.

Additionally, “untouchable beaches” will be designated in ecologically sensitive regions where sun beds are prohibited.

Moreover, Mitsotakis mentioned the introduction of an electronic reporting system for citizens to report any violations of the law by beachfront businesses.
