The trilateral meeting mainly focused on international and regional developments, particularly the ongoing war in the Gaza strip.
What is more, Mitsotakis and Christodoulides updated the French president on the progress of the Great Sea Interconnector project, a joint initiative of European and French interest.

Great Sea Interconnector Project
The nearly two-billion-euro Great Sea Interconnector project, which aims to link Israel with Cyprus and mainland Greece via a 1,200km undersea power interconnector is of great interest to France, as the project’s primary cable manufacturer, is the French multinational Nexans.
However, this power endeavor has come up against hurdles regarding its finalizations as two major parties Cyprus-Greece have to overcome economic issues.
During the previous months, Greece and Cyprus engaged in discussions upon discussions in an effort to sort out differences as French multinational Nexans – the lead cable manufacturer in the endeavor –threatened to halt work.
Recent developments suggest that Cyprus and Greece are nearing an agreement on the project, as the Cypriot cabinet has approved one of the four major pending issues, potentially paving the way to resolving long-standing obstacles.
