Greece’s foreign minister George Gerapetritis met with Israeli foreign minister Israeli Katz on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington, DC to discuss the ongoing conflict in the middle east between Israel and Hamas and more recent developments.
A key concern of both parties is the need to prevent a further spread of the war in Gaza and potential spillover to the region, according to post by Greece’s foreign ministry on X.

Moreover, Greece stressed its position and three key priorities of striving for peace in the region, the need for an upgrade to “full scale humanitarian assistance” and a release of all hostages.
The Israeli foreign minister was also briefed by Greece on the initiative to create a Euro-Arab task force to promote institution building and reform.
