Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday laid a wreath at the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex in Yerevan, after being received by his Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan during an official visit to the Caucasus country.
“We are experiencing a particularly fragile environment. Revisionism and expansionism have reappeared from the forces that disregard international law, international treaties, values, principles and the UN Charter. The global community must form a common front against these challenges and show that we’re ready to prevent an escalation of conflicts and strive to restore a peaceful environment, in accordance with international law,” Dendias said during joint statements with the Armenian DM.
According to reports, talks expectedly touched defense-related cooperation, including military training for the Armenian armed forces. Among others, Dendias briefed Papikyan over an initiative to create a new R&D center in Greece for defense systems and models, while calling on Armenian firms to collaborate with such an entity.
