Bilateral defense relations and the security situation in the broader region dominating a meeting between the Greek DM and his Lithuanian counterpart Anušauskas

Greek Defense Nikos Dendias was received by his Lithuanian counterpart Arvydas Anušauskas on Friday in the Baltic country, with bilateral defense relations and the security situation in the broader region, especially the ongoing war in Ukraine, dominating a meeting by the two ministers.

Additionally, the situation in Africa and the Middle East, as well the issue of irregular migration, was discusssed.

Dendias later took to his personal “X” (formerly Twitter) account to note that “…At today’s cordial welcome and meeting with the defence minister of Lithuania, Arvydas Anušauskas, we had the opportunity to discuss among other things, the following: Further enhancement of our defence relations, both at bilateral level and within the EU and NATO. The latest developments regarding the security situation in our broader region – Lithuania’s participation in the Hellenic Defence Innovation Ecosystem.”

Following a meeting with Anušauskas and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis Gabrielius in Vilnius, Dendias announced the holding of a conference in Athens in the autumn focusing on the defense ecosystem, with an invitation warmly extended to the Lithuanian side to participate.

The honored country at the conference will be France, one of the world’s leading defense manufacturers.
