Greek Ag. Minister to Visit Italy- Greece Honored Country at Vinitaly 2024

On Sunday, the minister will be in Verona, where he will represent Greece, as the honored country, at the opening ceremony of the largest European international wine and spirits exhibition, Vinitaly 2024.

The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis is on a five day official visit to Italy, as of today and until April 14, as he will participate in a ministerial conference on wine to be held in Brescia, with the participation of 32 countries.

The conference is organized by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), a leading intergovernmental organization that supports and promotes the quality, historical, and cultural value of wine.

The ministers will convene at the renowned Ca’ del Bosco winery, and they will also have the opportunity to tour notable wineries like Berlucchi and Bellavista.

The ministerial conference will cover strategies for sustainable wine and vineyard practices, climate change impacts, high-quality production methods, eco-friendly technologies, market enhancement with fresh and processed products, and the evolving supply-demand dynamics in the wine market.

Greece’s participation as the honored country was agreed upon during the visit of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to Greece and her meeting with the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
