After the farmers’ protests that gripped the center of Athens earlier in the week, the Greek capital is once again swarming with groups, including students, healthcare workers, and beekeepers protesting over a variety of demands, on Thursday.
Arriving in Athens by trucks and buses, beekeepers took to the streets surrounding Syntagma Square in front of the Greek Parliament, in their work uniforms, lit smokers, and banners in hand, expressing their disgruntlement over high production costs.
Meanwhile., students are continuing their protests against the Ministry of Education’s bill, which includes, among other things, the establishment of non-state non-profit universities.

Healthcare workers are also carrying out a Nationwide protest today opposing the privatization of services in the National Health System (NHS), including a work stoppage declared by the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN) from 8:00 to 15:00 in the wider Athens area, while a 24-hour strike will also take place in the region.
Police have implemented a series of traffic regulations in the center of Athens focusing on Panepistimiou Street, Stadiou Street, the streets around Syntagma Square, and other side streets where the protesters will be present.
In addition, traffic disruptions will occur on Amalias Avenue, as well as on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue from Sekeri Street.
Traffic measures took effect at noon when the students’ rally kicked off in the city center, while police instructed motorists to avoid using the above routes until the rallies finished.
