EU Launches Applications for 2024 European Organic Farming Competition

With eight awards across seven categories, including Best Organic Farmer (female and male), Best Organic Region, Best Organic City, and more, these accolades celebrate excellence in the organic industry.

The EU Organic Awards application period kicked off on Monday, running until May 12, 2024. These awards welcome entries from diverse stakeholders in the organic sector who have spearheaded innovative, sustainable projects enhancing the production and consumption of organic food.

Organized jointly by the European Commission, European Economic and Social Committee, European Committee of the Regions, COPA-COGECA, and IFOAM Organics Europe, the EU Organic Awards boast the involvement of the European Parliament and the Council in the judging process.

With eight awards across seven categories, including Best Organic Farmer (female and male), Best Organic Region, Best Organic City, and more, these accolades celebrate excellence in the organic industry.

Entities and institutions across the EU organic sector are invited to submit projects enhancing the affordability and accessibility of organic products. This encompasses organic farmers, regions, businesses with innovative approaches, as well as cities or regions providing organic meals to patients or students, or promoting organic production.

Applications in all EU languages are accepted online until May 12, 2024. Eligible submissions will undergo evaluation by the EU Organic Awards panel, focusing on excellence, innovation, sustainability, and replicability. Winners will contribute to raising awareness of organic production in the EU.

The Awards ceremony is scheduled for September 23, 2024, which is EU Organic Day.
