The first cabinet meeting for 2025 is scheduled to convene under the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion at 11 am on Friday. The focus of the meeting is expected to be the presentation of two new bills by the respective ministers of Finance and Interior Affairs.

More specifically, the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, is expected to present the bill aimed at strengthening the capital market.

As turmoil prevails in international markets, the cabinet meeting will place particular emphasis on the issue of the Public Debt Borrowing and Management Program with Hatzidakis expected to provide a relevant update on the matter.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, will make a proposal regarding the participation of the Hellenic Republic in the capital increase of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Additionally, as reported the Minister of Interior, Theodoros Livanios, along with the relevant Deputy Minister are most likely to present a bill that aims to enhance the efficiency of disciplinary justice and promote greater outward orientation of the public sector.

Lastly, during the meeting the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, is set to present a ministry bill and make a proposal regarding the tendering of a project connecting the Western Peripheral Highway of Egaleo with the Athens-Corinth National Highway, including the construction of interchanges at Skaramagas, Schisto, and the Shipyards.
