Attica Region Governor Nikos Hardalias Allocates €4.25 Million for Mental Health Enhancement

Hardalias, stressing the importance of mental health and addressing dependencies, affirmed, "We are committed to providing vital support and resources to meet these needs, aiming for a healthier and more empowered social environment for all citizens of the region."

Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias has secured a significant boost of 4.25 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Regional Operational Program “Attica” 2021 – 2027, in a move to fortify mental health services and combat substance dependencies.

The funding will support initiatives at Attica Psychiatric Hospital “Dafni,” the Center for the Treatment of Dependent Individuals, and the Organization Against Drugs.

Of this, 4 million euros will sustain ongoing programs targeting dependencies, encompassing prevention, treatment, and social reintegration efforts, along with enhancing parental support programs.

Additionally, 250,000 euros will be allocated to home nursing services and specialized mental health care provided by the Mental Health Centers of Peristeri in western Athens and Agioi Anargyroi, in northern Athens.
