A self-styled anarchist-activist group called “Rouvikonas” carried out a motorcycle protest in front of the residence of the newly-elected President of Greece, Konstantinos Tasoulas in the upscale district of Kifisia on Wednesday night.
The group posted a long article explaining its action online effectively calling the presidential office ineffectual as the “president could not even call elections”.
Commenting on the action, government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis called it: “an attack by representatives of the worst form of fascism on the home of the newly elected President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, on the day of his election, with slogans of hate”, adding it did not intimidate any democratic citizen.
Marinakis called on the opposition parties to reflect on where the tactics of toxicity and slander lead, especially when discussing a national tragedy, referring to the Tempi train crash.
Members of the Rouvikonas group scattered flyers before leaving the scene. The police did not make any arrests or detentions.
