A list by the Financial Times, the FT1000 Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2024, chronicling what the media group calls the fastest developing companies in Europe for the ongoing year includes two in Greece and one on Cyprus.
One of the main criterial for landing on the FT list is that a company’s minimum annual rate of revenue increase for the 2019-22 period to exceed 36.3%.
The first Greek company on the list is Ferryscanner, in 83rd place, a search engine and online booking service for ferry boat tickets. The company was established in 2018 in Athens, with the primary goal being to simplify the booking and purchase of coastal shipping tickets.
At present, the company is linked with 60 ferry boat operators offering 350 destinations in 24 countries, and with new routes added on an almost daily basis.
The second Greek company is Active Energy Solutions, a distributor and vendor of photovoltaic equipment in Greece and the Balkans. The company landed on the specific list for a third year in a row.
Finally, Cyprus-based Theon is the only defense contractor on the specific FT list.
Theon designs and produces state-of-the-art nightscopes and thermal imaging systems for clients in the defense and security sectors.
