The unemployment rate in Greece eased to 10.8% in the third quarter of 2023 according to figures released on Thursday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
The unemployment rate was 11.2% in the previous quarter (2Q 2023) and 11.6% in the corresponding quarter last year.
The number of employed individuals totaled more than 4.25 million, an increase by 0.5% compared to the previous quarter, 2Q 2023, and an increase by 1.0% compared to the same quarter of 2022.
The number of individuals outside the work force, meaning without employment or seeking such, totaled more than 4.26 million.
The highest unemployment rates were observed among women, young adults under 24, and in the western Macedonia region.
