The Public Employment Service (DYPA) has announced a new Greek entrepreneurship program offering €100 million in total funding to unemployed individuals looking to start their own businesses. The application deadline for submitting business plans is January 21, with submissions accepted online here.
The program concerns unemployed individuals aged 30–59, with a particular focus on empowering women entrepreneurs. Its primary goal is to help 5,880 unemployed individuals set up small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
To date, over 3,500 applications have been submitted, and dozens of business proposals are currently under evaluation.
Successful applicants will receive a 12-month grant totaling 17,000 euros, disbursed in three installments:
- 1st installment (4,600 euros): Upon commencement of business activity.
- 2nd installment (6,200 euros): After the first six months of operations (H1).
- 3rd installment (6,200 euros): After the second six month period of operations (H2).
How to Apply
Applicants must submit their proposals and business plans through the Integrated State Aid Information System (OPSKE) of the National Economy and Finance Ministry. Eligibility is limited to Greek and EU citizens or individuals with work permits.
