The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) has released its latest report on the turnover of businesses across all sectors of the Greek economy, based on the most recent data for May 2024. The findings indicate a modest growth, with business turnover rising by 1.5% compared to previous figures.
For the enterprises across the economy, obliged to double-entry accounting bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in May 2024 amounted to 30,839,136 thousand euro, recording an increase of 1.5% in comparison with May 2023, when the respective turnover was 30,395,338 thousand euros.
The most significant increase in turnover in May 2024 compared with May 2023 was recorded from the enterprises of the Accommodation and Food Service Activities, sector which grew by 14.8%.
Conversely, the largest decrease was recorded from the enterprises of the section Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply, per 9.8%.
