Athens Intl Airport: Passenger Traffic up 20% in March

The numbers are aligned with estimates which see tourism in Greece growing 20% in 2024

The Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos announced that passenger traffic was 20% higher in March compared to last year.

Figures were boosted by both domestic and international passenger traffic, which were 12.6% and 23.5% higher respectively.

The announcement also pointed out that the airport saw 5.2 million passengers pass through its doors during the first three months of the year.  This number was buoyed by 10.3% more domestic passengers and 19.4% international.

There were 6.5% more domestic flights in the first three months and 17.5% more international flights, compared to 2023.

The solid figures posted by the Athens International Airport are expected to continue throughout the season and on a country-wide level, where tourism is expected to grow 20% in 2024, according to OT.gr
