A new Greek insolvency agency allowing economically vulnerable debtors to settle their debts by leasing their foreclosed properties is expected to be implemented in 2025. The new legal framework, named the Sale & Lease Back Organization (SLBO), will grant debtors the right to buy back their repossessed homes over 12 years.


The Greek government is considering introducing a new legislative regulation that would reportedly make employees’ monthly tips in Greece and gratuities below a certain threshold non-taxable. The initiative comes in the wake of widespread reactions sparked by a Supreme Court decision two weeks ago, which ruled that all tips in Greece are income and therefore subject to taxation and insurance and healthcare contributions.


Greek long-jump Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou has been included in the Men’s Field Athlete of the Year 2024 awards. As announced by the World Athletics Federation, the two-time Olympic gold medalist will compete against four other nominees:


Israeli diamond magnate Beny Steinmetz was arrested by Greek police on Sunday upon arrival in the Athens airport under a warrant from Romania. According to Reuters, on Monday morning, Steinmetz passed before a prosecutor who decided to release him on bail. However the multi-billionaire was placed under a travel ban that forbids him from leaving the country until he receives a court decision.
