‘Women of the Cyclades Through Time’ Exhibition at Athens Airport

The current exhibition marks the fourth collaboration between the airport and the Museum of Cycladic Art

Travelers and visitors who find themselves in Athens International Airport (AIA) with a bit of time on their hands before their flight will have the opportunity to view the latest mini-exhibition staged by the Museum of Cycladic Art at the site.

Entitled “Women of the Cyclades Through Time”, the exhibition is on display on the airport’s Arrivals level. Opened last month, it will run through to May 31, 2025.

The exhibition, according to the organizers, explores the history of the Cyclades, the island chain in the middle of the Aegean Sea, through the marble female figurines crafted by local islanders in the 3rd millennium BC.

These Cycladic figurines, as they are called, are part of the renowned collection of the Museum of Cycladic Art in central Athens. They reflect an ancient society that revered women.

The current exhibition marks the fourth collaboration between the airport and the museum.
