The Theatre of the No, Athens’ first English-speaking theater, is set to feature Greek band BLUES CARGO for a series of eight exclusive live performances starting on Friday, July 12 through August 30.
Known as the most authentic Chicago Blues Band in Greece, BLUES CARGO has maintained its presence in the music scene for 37 years, delivering Chicago-Funky-Soul-Blues standards and original compositions from their acclaimed albums, including “Delayed Delivery” (2009), praised by the prominent “BLUES Magazine.”
Formed in Athens in 1987, the band has achieved a level of authenticity in the Chicago blues sound comparable to many bands from Chicago itself. Over the years, it has accompanied numerous renowned musicians such as Guitar Shorty, U.P. Wilson, Louisiana Red, Lurrie Bell, and many others, solidifying their reputation in the blues community.The Blues Hall of Fame has recognized them as one of the most important blues bands in Greece.
