At his 11th solo exhibition at Skoufa Gallery, George Hadoulis presents a series of twenty works comprising mostly of large  oil paintings on canvas, as well as smaller ink drawings on paper. Their subject-matter is drawn from landscapes that are deeply impressed on his memory. They are places he has lived in and explored. Through his singular painterly manner, the viewer is transported into a colorful world of wander and reflection.

Hadoulis explains that: ‘These landscapes are based on actual, real places but they are painted freely. I’ve known them well throughout the years.  I have dived from their cliffs into their seas and I can tell when the waters are cold or warm. I have laid down under their pine trees and damaged my bathing suit with resin gum. I know how dry is the ear of wheat under the trees. I have watched the moon rising behind those hills and wondered how others, before me and after me will feel the thrilling sensation of living in this beautiful world.”
