A portion of a new Coldplay video clip by the UK super group, shot at the Herodes Atticus Odeon beneath the Acropolis, was posted to social media on Tuesday.

“Must watch if you’re coming to one of our shows this summer”, was the statement accompanying the footage on Coldplay’s Instagram account.

The music video showcases the group playing their new single, “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love”, before hundreds of fans rhythmically singing, clapping and waving led light wristbands at the Roman-era amphitheater.

Coldplay surprised concertgoers at the end of their second show in Athens by playing the song for the first time in public, and then calling on fans to turn up and participate in the filming of the music video.

The single will officially debut on Friday and limited signed copies of their new “environmentally friendly” record, which is made out of recycled PET, were available for pre-sale and sold out immediately.

Coldplay’s recording of the music video at the Herodes Atticus Odeon is a milestone for the band and somewhat bittersweet for fans, as band members recently stated that they will stop recording new music by 2025.

The group played two sold-out concerts at the Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) earlier this month, as part of their “Music of the Spheres” world tour.

Coldplay is a British rock band started in 1997. The group has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the most successful music acts of all time.

The band is not only known for its music, but for its remarkable climate action initiatives and commitment to reducing the carbon “footprint” and overall environmental impact of its shows.

These initiatives encompass constructing stages that harness kinetic energy to produce renewable energy for powering the concert, promoting the use of zero-emission transportation among attendees for arriving at the event, and prohibiting the use of single-use plastics at the venue.
