Opera lovers are in for a treat as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s timeless masterpiece, The Magic Flute, comes to the Municipal Theatre of Pefki for a one-night-only performance on Sunday, February 23, at 19:00. Presented by the Municipality’s Musical Ensembles, Choirs, and Chamber Orchestra, the event is free to the public.
Under the baton of Orestis Zafeiropoulos, this fresh interpretation brings together some of Greece’s most celebrated opera voices, along with rising international stars, for an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling.
A blend of fairy tale magic, rich symbolism, and timeless themes of love, wisdom, and forgiveness, The Magic Flute remains one of the world’s most beloved operas since its premiere in 1791. The production is directed by renowned baritone Demosthenis Chr. Stavrianos, acclaimed for his performances as Papageno on opera stages worldwide.

Adding an international flair, Italian rising star Mira Dozio and Icelandic soprano Hlín Leifsdóttir join the cast. Leifsdóttir, whose ethereal voice has been compared to the northern lights, takes on the role of The Queen of the Night.
