Maria Menounos, a Greek-American TV presenter and social media personality, was named the Ambassador for the region of Attica to promote the area in the United States.
Menounos and her husband were received by the Governor of the Attica Region, Nikos Hardalias, in Athens on Tuesday.
“One of the most prominent and recognizable figures of the Greek Diaspora is supporting our efforts to promote Attica internationally,” stated the Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, in a post, adding:
“The leading Greek-American TV host, Maria Menounos, is the Ambassador of the Attica Region across the American continent, conveying the dynamic spirit of the new era we envision.
I had the pleasure of welcoming Maria and her husband to my office, where we discussed the major development projects being planned in Attica, as well as the organized efforts to strengthen our renowned tourism product.”
Maria Menounos has acted in movies, and co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, Greece. She also co-created and is currently CEO of online podcast series network AfterBuzz TV. In the past, she has also hosted Extra and E! News; and served as a TV correspondent for Today.
“As someone who always holds Greece close to her heart, Maria Menounos shared her proposals with us for opening new channels of communication, aiming to make the Attica Region the top choice for Americans for both vacations and business trips”, Hardalias said in his post.
“With love for our land and its people, we are joining forces to take Attica where it deserves to be: forward, always forward!”, the Attica governor pointed out.
