“Me Captain” (Io Capitano)

Me Captain (Io Capitano) Seeking a more promising future, two Senegalese adolescents set off on a voyage from Dakar to Italy. Yet, amidst their aspirational journey to Europe, they encounter a daunting path filled with checkpoints, the expanse of the Sahara Desert, and the menacing waters of the Mediterranean. Matteo Garrone, awarded with a Silver Lion for his direction at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, was inspired by real stories of African migrants’ routes to Europe. The film was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 81st Golden Globe Awards and Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

“On The Adamant” (Sur l’Adamant)

Golden Bear Winner at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, On The Adamant is a French documentary portraying “L’Adamant,” a floating psychiatric Day Center located on the Seine river in Paris. Director Nicolas Philibert depicts the Adamant as a mental health sanctuary, giving voice to its beneficiaries and caregivers in a documentary hymn to collective humanity. The documentary is one of the five finalist films competing for the Lux European Audience Film Award, expected to be announced soon.

“Love Lies Bleeding”

After its premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, Love Lies Bleeding, Rose Glass’ second feature film, a queer romantic noir, is now available in Greek cinemas. Set in the late 80s in the American South, the film unveils the queer romance between the gym manager, Lou (portrayed by Kristen Stewart), and a bodybuilder, Jackie (Katy O’Brian), who is heading to a competition in Las Vegas. However, love and violence soon collide as the two of them get sucked into the web of Lou’s criminal family.

“Force of Nature: The Dry 2”

Based on Jane Harper’s novel, Force of Nature, and a sequel to 2020’s film The Dry, Robert Connolly returns with the Australian Federal Police agent, Aaron Falk, in another mystery thriller. Five women embark on a scheduled company retreat, yet upon their return, only four remain, each recounting a distinct narrative. Falk, along with his colleague Carmen Cooper, is tasked with unraveling the truth and finding the missing woman before it is too late.
