This Saturday, April 12th, the Theatre of the NO in Athens, the city’s first English-speaking theatre, will host a performance by internationally acclaimed Greek jazz saxophonist and composer Dimitris Vassilakis and his quartet. The show is scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM.

The evening’s program will feature a mix of blues and ballads from Vassilakis’ award-winning recordings on Candid Records. Audiences can also expect to hear classic jazz standards and selections from his newly remastered album, Labyrinth Daedalus Project. The performance will also incorporate elements of poetry and storytelling alongside the music.

The Dimitris Vassilakis Quartet includes Manos Saridakis on keyboards, Periklis Trivolis on bass, and Giannis Stavropoulos on drums. Vassilakis will perform on saxophone and vocals.

Vassilakis has a history of collaborating with globally recognized musicians such as Jeff “Tain” Watts, Essiet Essiet, Andy Sheppard, and David Liebman. He has performed at major venues like Jazz at Lincoln Center and Birdland in New York, and at festivals including the London Jazz Festival and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in Athens. In addition, he founded the Rhodes & South Aegean International Jazz Festival and presented the “Jazz Democracy” forum at the United Nations.

Tickets are available for €10 online at More.com. The Theatre of the NO is located at Konstantinou Palaiologou 3, opposite Athens City Hall.
